They will increase substantially from 2020, up to 30,000 units per year, compared to the current 3,000. Given that forecast, the car company has just announced that it is (1) finalizing the construction of a new high-tech eight-story building to produce fuel cells and (2) will launch (just start the work) a new production line of high pressure hydrogen tanks.Toyota believes that the scale manufacturing of these two components – fuel cells and hydrogen tanks – is «critical to reducing system costs» and, consequently, to «enhance the growth and sales of Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles».
