Williams’ commercial division, Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE) will develop the lithium battery system of the hydrogen fuel cell electric truck of the global mining company, Anglo American. This dumper will be able to transport 300 tons, which makes it the largest electrified vehicle in the world. WAE will leverage its experience in developing batteries for challenging environments, as is the case in Formula E. These modular batteries will be tested in a mining truck later this year.

The CONOR project, funded by CDTi (Center for Technological and Industrial Development), has aroused interest in major brands in the automotive sector.
