Airbus develops at full speed its innovative E-Fan X, its next step in the electrification of flights. This ambitious project, in partnership with Siemens and Rolls-Royce, aims to develop a flight demonstrator that will test a 2MW hybrid-electric propulsion system that will eventually transfer to larger aircraft.
At the recent Farnborough Air Show 2018, the UK government announced its financial support for the innovative electric hybrid flight demonstrator of Airbus E-Fan X. Specifically, the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) of the United Kingdom will invest 255 million pounds sterling (€ 284 million) to develop greener flight technologies, including the one that will propel the E-Fan X. «We are working with the industry to lead the world as we embark on this journey towards the new era of air travel, «he said.
