New project of 11 million euros combines tidal energy and hydrogenmartes, 10 julio 2018 Orkney will become home to another innovative energy solution with a recently launched project to deliver a ground-based energy management system that will support hydrogen production using an electrolyser that works with a tidal power converter. The project, called Integrating Energy from Tides in the European Network (ITEG) and supported with € 11 million through the Interreg Northwest Europe (NWE) program, will establish an energy management system on land in the tide of the Fall of the War of the European Marine Energy Center. Test site to allow the production of hydrogen by means of an AREVA H2Gen electrolyzer, the first to be implemented in the United Kingdom, which will be powered by the next generation 2MW floating tide energy converter from Scotrenewables, the SR2-2000.
