Gumpert returns with his new Chinese partner, RG Nathalie, sporty fuel celljueves, 26 abril 2018 The German engineer Roland Gumpert is back with a new sports car, and this time he has a revolutionary electric powertrain.Gumpert is the person behind the legendary supercar line Gumpert Apollo. After his Gumpert brand encountered financial difficulties at the beginning of this decade, the company was acquired by new investors in 2016 and became Apollo.Gumpert separated from Apollo shortly after the takeover, but it would not be long before a new car project began. The result is the sporty RG Nathalie that was presented on Wednesday at the Beijing Auto Show 2018.The RG Nathalie, named after one of Gumpert’s daughters, is the first model of Chinese electric car startup Aiways. Gumpert, who was an Audi manager and oversaw some of Audi’s operations in China in the early 2000s, is head of product development for Aiways and head of its operations in Europe.
