Chinese companies team up to develop hydrogen truckslunes, 22 octubre 2018 One of China’s energy giants has partnered with a leading engine manufacturing company to jointly develop hydrogen-powered trucks.Two subsidiaries and one research institute of the Energy Investment Corporation of China (CHN Energy), the world’s largest company in the sector in terms of installed capacity, and the manufacturer Weichai Power Company, signed an agreement to produce trucks for the industry of mining fueled with hydrogen. Each of these vehicles will have a load capacity of more than 200 tons. With their cooperation, the companies seek to achieve advances in key technologies, both equipment and engineering, they said in a statement.The initiative represents a new step in the promotion of the use of clean fuels in the transport sector in China, which already has buses powered by hydrogen in the eastern municipality of Shanghai and in Chengdu, capital of the southwestern province of Sichuan.
