The First Ibero-American Congress of Hydrogen and Fuel Cells 2014 -IBERCONAPPICE 2014-, took place in Barcelona from October 15 to 17. Each person who participated in IBERCONAPPICE 2014 received a gift Tablet with all the information of the Congress. The multimedia video presentation of a Korean participant, who could not attend personally, was introduced as a novelty.

CONAPPICE 2012

Date: November 21 to 23, Madrid

The V National Congress of Fuel Cells – CONAPPICE 2012-, took place in Madrid from November 21 to 23. The presentation of a poster in electronic format was introduced as a novelty, giving all authors the opportunity to present their work before the audience. In addition to the Communications Presentation Sessions, there was a small exhibition where some of the prototypes developed by different research groups and companies were presented.

CONAPPICE 2010

Date: June 16-18, 2010, Seville

CONAPPICE 2010 was held on this occasion from June 16 to 18 in the city of Seville, capital of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia and the largest and most populated province of Andalusia.

Throughout its history, Seville has been characterized as a cultural and scientific focus that has stood out in many of the fields of science and the arts. The Congress was sponsored by the Andalusian Energy Agency, the Hynergreen Technologies company and the National Center for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells.

The Communications Book collected a total of 105 accepted papers for oral presentation and poster distributed in 13 Sessions. 312 authors from 75 centers participated among companies, universities, research centers and technology centers.

In addition to Spanish Centers, the participation of foreign centers such as ESFM-IPN (Mexico), Finesse Inc., Los Alamos National Laboratory and Univ. Illinois (USA), GIAP-CIFASIS and Univ. Nacional Río Cuarto (Argentina), ICI CALDAIE, stood out. and Univ. Messina (Italy), Imperial College, Univ. Newcastle and Univ. St. Andrews (United Kingdom), I. Nacional de Engenharia and Univ. Aveiro (Portugal), Pragma Industries and Univl Paul Sabatier (France), Technical University Iasi (Romania), Univ. Antwerpen (Belgium), Univ. Industrial de Santander (Colombia), Univ. Kashan and Univ. Toosi (Iran).

In addition to APPICE, the Andalusian Energy Agency, AICIA Higher School of Engineers, University of Seville, CLAN Tecnológica, Foundation for the Development of New Hydrogen Technologies in Aragon, Hynergreen Technologies, Andalusian Institute of Technology, participated in the Trade Exhibition. (IAT-Hyrreg) and ICI Caldaie.

All authors were invited to submit an extensive paper for publication in a special volume of the international Journal of Power Sources.

CONAPPICE 2008 was held in Zaragoza, a world benchmark that year for sustainable development and environmental protection. Coinciding in time and place with the Feria de Zaragoza Power Expo, CONAPPICE 2008 showed the latest advances at a fundamental level and applied to this key technology for sustainable development and the environment. Continuing with the trajectory started in CONAPPICE 2004, and after the successful participation of CONAPPICE 2006, CONAPPICE 2008 brought together the different sectors involved – research centers, technology centers, companies, administrations – and presented the latest works and lines of research. investigation.

CONAPPICE 2006

Date: October 18-20, 2006, Madrid

The II Congress organized by the Spanish Association of Fuel Cells met in Madrid, at the CSIC headquarters, the majority of researchers from research centers and companies in this field. More than 100 works were submitted, signed by more than 250 authors. The communications were collected in the corresponding Communications Book, published by APPICE with ISBN 84-690-1309-2. The total number of entities represented is around 80 centers, which are distributed in about 20 companies and some 60 research centers. Although the congress was national, about 20 of the entities that presented works are foreign. The Congress was divided into different sessions depending on the technology of the different types of fuel cells and their applications. CONAPPICE 2006 was held thanks to the support of the different sponsors and the collaborating entities. The Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) and the Center for Energy, Environmental and Technological Research (CIEMAT) actively participated as collaborating entities.

In this book the papers that took place during the celebration of the seminar «FUEL PILES: State of Technology and Perspectives» organized by the Spanish Association of Fuel Cells are collected.

This book aims to give an overview of technology, reviewing the most interesting applications described by some of the researchers and companies most involved in its development. Entities such as Siemens, MTU, INETI, the Mexican Petroleum Institute, BESEL, CIDETEC and CSIC.ICP, explain the basic principles and applications in the transport, residential, industrial and portable applications sectors, highlighting the importance of fuel . It also describes the socioeconomic impact, the perspectives of the Fuel Cells and the institutional vision through the presentations of the European Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the CIEMAT.

Fuel Cells in the Transportation Sector

Course: Transportation 2003

This book contains the papers that took place during the celebration of the seminar «Batteries of Combustibe in the Transport Sector» organized by the Spanish Association of Fuel Cells – APPICE during November 11 and 12, 2003 in Madrid.

In this issue, important companies in the field of Fuel Cells applied to different means of transport, such as Toyota, Boeing, Izar, Abengoa or Besel, manufacturers of fuel cells, such as Ballard and Axane, as well as large gas companies such as Praxair and Air Liquide, or technological centers, such as Cidaut or Insia, expose the solutions that are glimpsed in the medium term to solve the new energy and environmental challenges linked to the integration of this technology in the different types of transport systems (land, sea and aerial), as well as in the production, transport and distribution of hydrogen in a massive way.

The institutional vision is transmitted by the CIEMAT, the CDTI and the European Commission, which explain the new initiatives proposed, manifesting themselves with the creation of the High Level Group for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells (High Level Group) and the European Platform of the Hydrogen and Fuel Cells. Finally, the venture capital firm Core Technology Venture LLP, exposes the point of view of the financiers.

In this book the papers that took place during the celebration of the seminar «Biogas and Fuel Cells from Waste to Clean Energy» organized by the Spanish Association of Fuel Cells and Urbaser are collected.

This course has reviewed the current situation of the generation of biogas from different sources and using different methods, with special emphasis on the application of these gases as fuel for fuel cells.
