Alstom, together with other companies, cities and countries, have created a coalition of the Alliance for the Decarbonisation of Transport (ADT) that seeks to join forces and accelerate the process of decarbonisation of the transport sector.
Those of transport currently exceed 25% of all greenhouse gas emissions related to power generation. The Alliance for the Decarbonization of Transport seeks, through this coalition, to promote the transformation of world transport to reduce its emissions to zero by 2050. The Alliance will provoke debates on decarbonisation at all levels -global, national and local- with public and private policies.
The debates promoted by the Alliance for the Decarbonisation of Transport will try to demonstrate, through different initiatives, that decarbonisation is «technically feasible, economically attractive and offers broad social and environmental benefits,» Alstom said in a statement.
