15-Hour Flight Time – MMC UAV Launches New Record-Breaking Hydrone
MMC UAV launched its brand new hydrone Griflion H that features a record-breaking 15-hour flight time on September 17th, 2019 in Germany during the InterGEO 2019, the world’s largest conference and trade fair for geodesy, geoinformation and land management. It is a hydrogen-powered vertical take-off and landing drone with an integrated design. MMC-developed hydrogen fuel battery shows great stability and tremendously extends drone flight time.
Belgium: Port of Antwerp orders hydrogen-powered tugboat construction
The Port of Antwerp ordered the construction of a tugboat powered by hydrogen. The ship, called «Hydrotug» will be the first of its kind to operate in the world. The ship will burn hydrogen in combination with diesel in engines that comply with the Euro V standard of the European Union, leading to «ultra-low» emissions. The tugboat will be built by the Compagnie Maritime Belge (CMB), a pioneer in the field of hydrogen energy for maritime transport.
Toyota installs a fuel cell generator at its Honsha plant
Toyota has developed a fixed fuel cell generator that uses the same system that assembles the Toyota Mirai electric fuel cell vehicle (FCEV). The generator has been installed at the Honsha plant in Toyota City (Aichi Prefecture, Japan), and will use hydrogen to generate the energy necessary for the operation of the plant.
Within 10 years, hydrogen will replace all polluting fuels
At the conference on the energy transition held at the theater of the French Institute of Madrid, the vector proposed by the speakers is hydrogen (H2), to combat climate change and cut the increasing CO2 emissions that the UN has denounced this Wednesday. Victorien Erussard, French captain and driver of the construction of the first hydrogen-powered ship that he himself generates thanks to the sea water, the sun and the wind, has told his experience during the beginning of a round the world aboard his ship creation, the Energy Observer.
